Judy Klein has long been passionate about the benefits of vaccination and helping healthcare organizations make it possible for people to live healthier lives.
Judy is especially interested in increasing awareness about the importance of adolescent vaccines—both as the mother of three young adult children, and as someone who knows the potential these vaccines have to prevent disease and save lives. The reality is that too many teens and young adults still aren’t getting protected against preventable illnesses. And despite attempts in both the public and private sector, there has been no overarching organization bringing everyone to the table.
That’s why she co-founded and is President of Unity: United for Adolescent Vaccination.
This Consortium is the first of its kind to unite public and private entities, not-for-profits, and government agencies to share data and research and collaborate in key projects aligned with Unity’s mission.
There are four key pillars of Unity’s mission.
1. ESTABLISH adolescent immunization as a central component of preventative adolescent health and as an investment in long-term health.
2. DEVELOP healthcare providers as advocates that make strong patient-focused recommendations for all ACIP-recommended adolescent vaccines.
3. ENGAGE parents and adolescents to embrace the value of immunization.
4. ENSURE easy access to and timely delivery of all recommended adolescent vaccines.
The ultimate VISION for Unity is coverage at 90% or greater for all adolescent vaccines recommended by The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.
